The Festival Market
The Festival Market is a brief developed on the Agora typology and combines a market, a smoking tower and kitchens, a viewing/restaurant deck and an admin suite. This project developed from a personal interest in the social and economic role that architecture plays in society whilst the aim of the project was to celebrate the regular use of the Market Place reinvigorating the market and giving the people of Salisbury a place to commune and congregate on a frequent basis. Secondly bringing to life the civic festivals that take place within the Market Place trough out the year. My scheme plays on the temporary and permanent nature built upon with the evolution of the market place and aims to re-enchant by celebrating the ‘magic’ of the market and civic festivals.
